Illia “Golem” Yefimchyk, a 36-year-old Belarusian bodybuilder known for his massive physique, died after suffering a heart attack at home on September 6.
Despite his wife Anna’s efforts to revive him through chest compressions, Yefimchyk fell into a coma, and doctors later confirmed his brain had died. He passed away last week, with his death confirmed on Instagram.
Yefimchyk, dubbed “The Mutant” for his 6-foot, 340-pound frame, was widely known in the bodybuilding community. His widow expressed gratitude for the support she has received during this difficult time.
“I spent every day by his side, hoping, and his heart started beating again for two days, but the doctor gave me the terrible news that his brain had died,” the grieving widow told local media.
“I thank everyone for their condolences. It’s very heartwarming to realize that I am not left alone in this world, and so many people have offered me help and support.”
