The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested activist and politician Omoyele Sowore upon his return to Nigeria on Sunday, September 15. Sowore shared the news on X, revealing that his international passport was confiscated by Nigerian immigration officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Sowore also claimed that security forces had been tracking him in his hometown in Ondo State, attempting to frame him for false charges. Supporters of Sowore gathered at the airport, demanding his release and threatening to block the airport if he was not freed.
