Terrorist kingpin Turji in panic state —CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has revealed that notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji, is panicking due to the intensified military operations in the North West. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Musa explained that the recent killing of key terrorist commanders, including Halilu Buzu, has shaken Turji’s gang.

Previously confident, Turji now shows signs of fear, as Buzu was his superior. Musa noted that Turji’s recent actions are mere “noise-making” as he knows he could be next. The CDS also linked the prolonged insecurity to issues like poverty, illiteracy, and poor governance in affected areas, resulting in many idle youths joining terrorist groups.

“The more we take them out, more are joining them and then you remember, we have 1,500 kilometers border with Niger Republic.

“We have another border with Benin Republic and so a lot of people filter in and out within Nigeria.

“So efforts are being made to ensure that we secure those borders to deny them the ability to move in,” he said.
