Donald Trump made a notable return to Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday for a rally at the location of a recent assassination attempt just 12 weeks prior.
The Republican presidential candidate humorously opened his speech, referencing the incident while standing behind bulletproof glass. He pointed to a chart he claims helped save his life during the shooting by Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired at him from a nearby rooftop.
Although Trump was only grazed by a bullet, he asserted that he and the MAGA movement would not be silenced, as supporters held signs reading “FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!”
Elon Musk, a supporter and endorser, attended alongside Trump’s running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance. Trump also honored Corey Comperatore, a former volunteer fire chief who died during the shooting, paying tribute to his widow, Helen, and their family.
The rally featured heightened security to ensure Trump’s safety, and his trademark remark, “As I was saying,” underscored his resolve to continue despite the attack.
