A confirmed police source informed Channels Television that Bobrisky spent the night in a cell at the police facility. The source mentioned that Bobrisky is at the FCID for safekeeping after being arrested by Nigeria Immigration Service officials while attempting to leave the country via the Seme border.
The source further stated, “He is here for now, and we are awaiting further instructions regarding his case.”
According to the source, Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, at around 10 p.m. on Monday after being apprehended at the Seme border by Immigration authorities.
Confirming Bobrisky’s detention, the spokesperson for the FCID Annex in Lagos, Aminat Mayegun, briefly told our correspondent over the phone, “Yes, he is in our custody, and we are obtaining a remand order to keep him detained today.”
A statement on Monday evening signed by the spokesperson for the Nigeria immigration service, Kenneth Udo, described Okuneye as a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.
The Nigeria Immigration Service, in line with its commitment to border security, intercepted Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border while attempting to leave the country.
According to a statement, Bobrisky is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
