Hamas has responded to Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, urging his incoming administration to take immediate action to halt the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The group called for an end to what they describe as “genocide and aggression” against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Hamas emphasized the need for the U.S. to stop supporting Israel politically and militarily, and to recognize Palestinian rights to freedom, independence, and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. They expressed hope for the cessation of violence against Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, under Trump’s leadership.
