Man arrested and charged over viral TikTok videos of ‘women that were filmed without their consent

A 27-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested and charged with stalking and harassment after allegedly filming vulnerable women during nights out in Manchester. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) launched an investigation following reports of women being followed, filmed, and harassed in areas like Peter Street and Deansgate.

The man reportedly uploaded the videos to TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, where they gained millions of views and attracted misogynistic comments. Police uncovered additional content behind a paywall, including suspected upskirting and non-consensual nudity.

This arrest marks one of the first cases in the UK involving social media content targeting women in public spaces. GMP Chief Inspector Stephen Wiggins emphasized the importance of addressing predatory behavior and ensuring public safety during Manchester’s nightlife. Police encourage anyone affected by such incidents to come forward.

Authorities have increased patrols in city hotspots, especially during the busy holiday season, to maintain safety and deter predatory behavior.
