The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refuted claims of discovering $800 million, ₦700 billion in cash, and drugs valued at ₦1 trillion at the residence of Bello El-Rufai, the eldest son of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the EFCC dismissed the allegations as baseless rumors. The commission clarified that the claims were a false representation of its activities and urged the public to disregard them.
The EFCC stated:
“Reports claiming EFCC discovered $800 million, ₦700 billion cash, and ₦1 trillion worth of drugs at Bello El-Rufai’s residence are completely false. The public is advised to ignore such misinformation.”
Bello El-Rufai also denied the allegations, affirming that no such discoveries were made at his Kaduna residence.
