The Chairman of Katcha Local Government Area in Niger State, Danlami Abdullahi Saku, has tragically passed away in a car accident. The fatal crash occurred on Tuesday evening near Kwakuti village along the Minna-Suleja road, as Saku was traveling to Abuja for a function with two other passengers, who sustained injuries.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muazu Hamidu Jantabo, confirmed the incident in a statement, expressing grief over the loss.
“It is with deep sadness but total submission to the will of Allah that I, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and people of Katcha Local Government Area over the tragic passing of Hon. Danlami Abdullahi Saku,” Jantabo said.
He described the late Chairman as a committed and dedicated leader whose contributions to the development of Katcha Local Government would be remembered. “His sudden demise in the motor accident on 10th December 2024 is a significant loss, not just to his loved ones but to the entire state,” Jantabo added.
