Former US President Bill Clinton hospitalized

Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to a hospital in Washington, DC, on Monday afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever.

“The president is doing fine,” said Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, in an interview with CNN. He added that the former president is optimistic about returning home by Christmas.

Clinton, 78, was at his Washington home when he was taken to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He is expected to stay at least overnight, with an aide noting that he is “awake and alert.” Clinton is in good spirits and grateful for the excellent care he is receiving.
