A 10-year-old boy, Tasi’u Abdullahi, from Rikkos community in Jos North, Plateau State, was tragically killed by his kidnappers after they received N150,000 as part payment for his ransom. Tasi’u was abducted in front of his family home last Monday when he was lured by the kidnappers. His body was found five days later, discarded in a sack near his parents’ house on Friday morning.
Tasi’u’s uncle, Aliyu Abubakar Muhammad, confirmed the details of the incident, stating that after the kidnappers demanded N50,000 for the boy’s feeding, plus N1 million for the ransom, they eventually negotiated a payment of N300,000, of which N150,000 was transferred via bank. Shockingly, after the payment, the family received a call from a woman informing them that their child had been killed. Upon examining the body, they found he had been strangled, with blood coming from his nose and mouth.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime. Hon. Muhammad Adam Alkali OON, former member of the Plateau State Federal constituency, condemned the murder and called for justice.
