The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced a petrol price increase. As of September 16, 2024, petrol from the Dangote refinery will be sold at N950.22 per litre in Lagos, N992.22 in Abuja, and N1,019 per litre in Borno.
According to NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communication Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the prices are determined by market negotiations and not government-set. Payments for petrol from the Dangote Refinery are made in USD for September, with Naira transactions starting October 1. Any discounts from the Dangote Refinery will be passed on to the public.
