Ex-Bad Boy Records rapper says Diddy ‘destroyed’ his life

Moses “Shyne” Barrow, a former rapper turned Belizean politician, recently addressed the arrest of his former mentor, Sean “Diddy” Combs, stating, “This is someone that destroyed my life.” Barrow, who was signed to Diddy’s record label in 1998, was involved in a 1999 nightclub shooting that injured three bystanders.

He was convicted in 2001 and sentenced to 10 years in prison, after which he was deported to Belize. Now 45 and the Leader of the Opposition in Belize, Barrow remarked at a September 18 press conference that Diddy “pretty much sent me to prison.”

Despite this, he clarified that he doesn’t hold Diddy responsible and has forgiven him. Barrow, who performed under the name Shyne, had a flourishing rap career before his conviction, contributing to several hit albums in the late 1990s.
