The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the outcome of the Edo State governorship election held on September 21, 2024, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, was declared the winner.
The PDP, supported by its Governors Forum, claims that their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, was the actual winner, citing results from polling units that show Ighodalo in the lead before what they describe as manipulation by the APC, in collusion with some INEC officials.
The PDP alleges that the results were altered in favor of the APC and demands a re-collation of votes in certain areas where discrepancies were identified. The Labour Party is also reviewing the election results and will announce its position soon.
