Pereira knocks out Rountree in Fourth Round at UFC 307

Alex Pereira successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight title with a knockout victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. in the fourth round at UFC 307 in Las Vegas.

The Brazilian champion faced early challenges, including being knocked down by a counter right hand in the second round. Rountree’s speed and striking initially created problems for Pereira, forcing him to alter his strategy.

Pereira regained control in the third round by delivering powerful calf kicks that hindered Rountree’s movement. In the fourth round, Pereira unleashed a fierce combination of body shots and an uppercut, ultimately leading to the stoppage.

In his post-fight interview, the former middleweight champion addressed speculation about a potential move to heavyweight, confirming that he would remain at light heavyweight due to his training partnership with current heavyweight champion Dricus Du Plessis.

This victory marks Pereira’s second successful defense of the light heavyweight title since winning the belt in 2023.
