Ex-Morocco and Marseille player, Abdelaziz Barrada dies at 35 after suffering ‘sudden heart attack’

Abdelaziz Barrada, the former Marseille midfielder, has tragically passed away at the age of 35 due to a heart attack. The ex-Morocco international, who retired from football in 2021 after playing for clubs including Getafe, Marseille, and Al-Nasr, was living in France at the time of his death.

Marseille expressed their condolences on social media, honoring Barrada, who played for the club from 2014 to 2016. Getafe also shared their sorrow, highlighting Barrada’s contributions during his time there, where he made 66 appearances and scored 4 goals.

Barrada captained the Morocco team at the 2012 London Olympic Games and represented his country in 26 matches, scoring four goals between 2012 and 2015.
